Can someone help me wit a proportionate response please? My 2 girls, age 3 and 5.5 are in a local creche. Crèche do school drop off and collection during term and camp in summer. 3 year olds room never go out. Dd1 gets brought out a couple of times a week to museams, cinema etc. Found out today that some of the time she has been sharing a seat and seat belt with a other child in the car without a booster. I'm really upset. They obviously have bigger numbers than they can transport. They have been in this creche since January so really only settled recently.
What's a proportionate response? I need grounding here

Sorry I wrote proportionate response twice but I don't want to over/under react.
Just got context we take car safety really really seriously

It's illegal. I can't believe they're offering a service they can't legally provide!

I know!!!!
I'm not in the UK but also illegal where I am
TreeBird16 · 04/08/2016 16:56
And surely crèches are covered by even more stringent regulations
Danglyweed · 04/08/2016 16:57
Grounding? You don't need grounding. I'd go mental! That is unbelievable!
TreeBird16 · 04/08/2016 17:04
So what do I do? They are happy there so I'm hesitant to pull them out but I think it says so much about the culture. And this has happened multiple times. I'm going to send an email now and follow up in the morning
Danglyweed · 04/08/2016 17:10
An email def is a good start, gives you the chance to offload the rage with a chance to see their response and reply calmly face to face
TreeBird16 · 04/08/2016 20:14
Email sent. I got a mealy mouthed reply saying it would be looked into and dd1 must be lying about sitting sharing a seat in the front as they would never do. I can honestly say my dd1 has never told a lie. I believe her 100%. The idea of being unrestrained in a car or sharing a seat belt would never occur to her unless they actually happened

Serious safeguarding concern. Ofsted and local authority LADO.
TreeBird16 · 04/08/2016 20:22
As I mentioned earlier not in the UK. But there is probably an ofsted equivilant so I'll look into that. It's such a shit time of year for this to happen . Everywhere is full for
Sept and only a few places do afterschool pickup from my dd1s school
lalalalyra · 09/08/2016 21:53
I'd pull them out. I know you said they've settled there, but if they are prepared to cut corners in safety - and so massively so - what else are they prepared to cut corners with?
Will you ever be able to relax with them in charge of the care of your children again?
TreeBird16 · 11/08/2016 11:19
Well the update is i did yank them straight out. They started a new nursery yesterday. The creche are completely denying it and saying my daughter is is lying. I have contacted 2 other mothers I know and they have asked their kids and the kids have told the exact same story as my DD1. They are also removing their kids.
I have demanded my money back so hopefully in the next day or 2 that will come through.
HSMMaCM · 11/08/2016 13:34
Well done
Andbabymakesthree · 13/08/2016 08:10
Well done. I'm glad you've told other parents too. Shame their is no official body in your country like ofsted!
