Removing Child From Nursery

Hi

Looking for some advice, I plan on removing my child from the private nursery she is at, they ask for 4 weeks notice but I am only giving 2 weeks due to the reason for removing my child.

Does anyone know what will happen? I don't care about the deposit just don't want to have my child there any longer due to concerns that have been raised on numerous occasion and nothing has been done about it.

any advice would be great just don't want to go in tomorrow with my letter of notice and not be prepared on what they have to say in regards to full notice not been meet

You can remove your child whenever you want. They can never go there again if that's what you want; but, unless it's a safeguarding issue, then you will lose your deposit. What is the issue?

theres a lot of things, my childs been injured and they cant advise what happened as she was left unsupervised ( few a and e tirps that they cant explain what happened) and then now they have failed a care inspection very badly ( lack of staff and a lot of other bad things) I just don't feel comfortable leaving her there, she older and due to leave in about 8 weeks anyway so cant see it being a big deal, Just have a feeling the manager might try and be funny with not giving the full notice.

You've got a right to remove her due to safeguarding issues and not be penalised. Contact OFSTED and they'll be able to advise you further

Tbh they won't be interested if you say you're happy to send her back but only for two weeks .... Either she's safe, or she's not.

If you don't give the right amount of notice, they can keep your deposit and take you to court for the remainder of the fees

If you had a safeguarding concern, then it would be expected that you would remove your child with immediate effect
By giving 2 weeks, you are in effect shooting yourself in the foot, as you can't really say its a safeguarding issue

I see it as you having 2 choices
Either remove her immediately citing safeguarding concerns and risk losing your deposit and be chased for fees
Or leave her till she leaves in 8 weeks

You can take her out whenever you like and just pay the notice period. If you have a serious concern though, take her out today.

I removed her today and they were ok with it, which surprised me but think due to my reasons they couldn't really say much.
