Nursey Education Funded hours

I've just followed up on the term dates for my DD1's nursery and they end a week earlier than schools. I added up the number of weeks and it falls short of the "38 weeks" of 15 free hours this academic year.
As several weeks are a day short (bank hols, term starting on tues and finishing on thurs) I'd really like to know how the funding is specified (do they need to make up for lost days also) before I write to draw their attention to this.

Can anyone give me directions to the definitions?

Our local authority pay the 38 weeks over a financial year not the academic year. Which means some academic years are paid 37 weeks then the next will be 39 weeks.

It's not to do with how the LA fund it though, it's that the nursery arn't open enough weeks/days to cover the entitlement.
And if they're only open a 4 day week can they get away with counting as a "full week" towards that 38?

If they only pass on 37 weeks of funded care then they should only receive 37 weeks of funding from the LA.

Its 570 hours from 1st September to 31st august
210 hours from 1st September til 31st December
165 hours from 1st January to 31st march
195 hours from 1st April to 31st August

You can use your funding over more than one setting? Whether it would be worth that here though?

Nursery will only get funding for hours used so if there not open (extra day a week/week a year) they won't claim for them. Your child is still entitled to the hours but you would have to use them elsewhere

That's not true, only one setting can claim the funding. One setting will fill out the paperwork for the funding and send it off, multiple settings cannot do this.

I claimed over two for a while, so it definitely was possible. I did a quick google and there are lots of policy documents there suggesting that it is still the case.

You can claim at more than one setting but you must tell each setting how many hours you claim at the other setting
Op, did you not sign a parental funding agreement that shows how many hours a term the setting is claiming?
You say the term finishes earlier than the schools, are you certain the term didn't start earlier to compensate?

Also, the funding for the summer term can be claimed from the 1st April but in our area the schools summer term doesn't start until the 25th April.

I run a nursery and our term dates are identical to the local schools apart from finishing a week earlier at the end of the year. The reason we do this is because we don't have inset days so bung them on the end of the summer term and finish 5 days earlier. Could your nursery be doing that?

Funding can definitely be claimed at more than one setting and nurseries don't have to claim the full 38 weeks - they able to just claim for the weeks they are open.

I have no parental agreement to sign;
It's ridiculous to find another setting for 2 weeks or less, especially as we do 6 self-funded hours a week at this setting.
As for term dates they started a week later in September, finish a week earlier in July and cut out monday/friday at the beginning and end of school terms.
I'll see how the Manager reacts but I'd like them to cut by bill by claiming the maximum hours, naturally.

They are only allowed to claim 15 hours per week, so if they're not open 38 weeks a year they can't claim all the hours.
