as ive paid the deposit last April (06) for my DD's place as the plan was that once i go back to work full time my DD was supposed to go to the Nursery full time too.

Now ive decided not to go back to work at all....im not sure if i do decide to put my daughter in nursery part time or not at all

Have i lost the deposit?

Depends on the basis you paid a deposit . It may well be non refundable if a place is available and you decline or perhaps offset at least in part against fees. If they can fill the place you might get it back.

I guess it depend when your DD is due to start. If we have more than a month's notice that a place won't be taken up then we give back the deposit, and our deposit is refunded to all parents in the child's final invoice before leaving the nursery. But we also have an admin fee and that is non-refundable. So you may find you'll get some of your money back if not all of it...hth
