Dolphin school pickup and drop

I am planning to send my DD to Dolphin School. We need to make a decision next week.

We've been living in Reading and quite used to this place. School from our place is 30 mins one way. I would end up spending 2 hours/day only to drop and pickup my DD - tough task in the long run. Can anyone suggest if there is another alternative please? Childminders for drop and pickup would be great, but really concerned about safety and costs. Car pooling with other kids may be another option, but I need to check with school if any other kids commute from Reading.

School appears to be great, but I am trying to sort out logistics.

You need to ask on a local page try fb SW11 or SW18 mums if you are talking about the Northcote rd Dophin. Is it that good??

Hi Reading. You wouldn't be the furthest away by any stretch of the imagination. I supposed whether or not there will be people to carpool with depends on which bit of Reading you're in. (There are certainly families who drive from the other side.) We live about 20 mins from school and have ended up being entirely responsible for the journey ourselves because no one lives near us. We're used to it now - lots of audio books etc - but it's no small undertaking. Dolphin's a great school though, and definitely worth the trip!

Thanks a lot Whippetywhippet. We live in RG1. Once admission formalities are sorted, may be I will touch with you again. My DD is going to be joining in Year1.
