Should I look for a Childminder now?

I have a 5 yr old who currently goes to a childminder for before and after school care, number 2 is due in the summer holidays so if I take my planned 6 months I will need care for both from Jan 16.
As this is a few months into the new school yr should I try and find a childminder now?
And how would that work holding places till then?
If I leave it closer to the time I'm risking not finding someone who can do the school run and have a 6m old.

I used a nursery for my first but I don't see that working needing the after school care as well, don't really want to have both a nursery and a childminder.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Contact afew childminders, some will have places up, thru out the year...

Good luck!

Would your current childminder be able to do it?

Only term time school runs and currently only a couple fo days due to spaces, which we can work around with DC1 but will pretty much need full time or at least 4 days once we have DC2 as well.

Will start asking around, no harm in getting some feedback from people.

I'd look now - many childminders have waiting lists
