Nurseries in putney - recommendations?

Hello

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for nurseries in Putney at all? Am east putney but willing to walk to a good one.

It is for my 3 year old DS. Didn't get any of the state places we applied to so looking for something just to get him used to being in a nursery setting etc ( so doesn't necessarily need to be a pre school as such). Am only looming for mornings ideally.

Any recommendations would be gratefully received!

Jenniflowers preschool nursery is a really lovely nursery, my friends child goes there and she raves about it. It does mornings only, and is close to Southfields tube station which if I remember correctly is near your East Putney stop? It depends which way you're traveling to work.

It s a private nursery tho not state. Sorry I just read you were wanting state.

Busy Bee by the Bridge and the one on Lytton Grove (I think) are both great pre schools but possibly long waiting lists.
If you can't find a space in Putney then my friend highly rates her nursery New Stepping Stones near Mortlake train station and was telling me yesterday that they have a few children moving out of the area in the summer so may well have some spaces in September.

Third Door is friendly and flexible. Near Wandsworth park.

Hi. My DS is at noddys which is great and worth getting on the waiting list because you never know. People move around a lot. The new Asquith on Norroy Rd looks good for an older child like yours though I wouldnt leave my DS there at 9 months. Baby room too exposed to the older kids' areas. I'm also wondering which route to go down when he's a bit older. Should i start thinking about a more structured school type nursery or leave him where he is.? He's a late September birthday so will be there til almost 5! Time will tell I guess. I hear great things about Lion House and Square One though they may be a bit out of your way. There's also Roche Keswick which is nearer you.

If you do decide to look at Asquith on Norroy Road, you need to ask about their routine relating to food. When my son was there (ages ago) they introduced this new child led idea that you asked the child if he wanted to eat, and if he did not want to sit at the table with the other children, that was fine, he did not have to take part in lunch/tea. Equally, he did not have to take part in tidying up if he did not want to. If he did not want to do a nappy change, it was his choice. It caused all sorts of problems for my son when he started school, and was expected to sit at the carpet at carpet time, eat when it was time to eat, etc. He struggled to adjust to doing as he was told, as he had been his own boss at nursery. He also was frantic with hunger at home time.
