When do I need to apply to a nursery?

Dd is 2 in March and does not currently go to a nursery. We want her to go when she turns 3 with the 'free' hours so when's the best time to start looking and book her place?

I think it depends on the individual nursery and your area. I had to put dd2 on the waiting list when I had my 12wk scan for her to start at 7months but ours is a very popular nursery.

I applied just after mine were 2 for starting at age 3

Am currently 31 weeks pregnant and have had Bump's 'name' down for a Sept 2016 start. Had to do this as this is the earliest time my local nursery has space from. As it is, will need to find alternative childcare for 5 months prior to that as go back to work April 2016. Crazy! So therefore, can't be much help as all local nurseries (am in London) have year long plus waiting lists!

Depends on your area so ask around and register asap.
