Chilcare in E14 for 2.5 year old

Hello,

I am after some general advice on childcare for my DS who is 2.5 (turning 3 in May).

I am a SAHM, and he currently goes to a private day nursery one day a week.

I want to increase this, I think to three half day sessions a week, in January, when he'll be just over 2.5.

Do you think this would be enough for him? They days when he's not in nursery I would take him Mother / Toddler groups, music classes, etc

We are in E14. The nursery he goes to is not particularly cheap, so I am also looking at other options for him, including nursery school and playgroups.

What are playgroups like in E14? Can anyone recommend any? I have checked on Ofsted, and there seem to be four in my area, but don't know of anyone whose kids actually go there!

If we decided to go down the nursery school route for him, he wouldn't be starting till next September. Can anyone recommend nursery schools in E14? I have heard that Harbinger and Arnhem Wharf are "bad", but that St Edmunds and Cubitt Town are "good". How soon would I need to get his name down generally? (I saw St Edmunds today and they assured me I hadn't left it to late for a September-next-year admission).

TIA
