I am looking into nurseries in London (preferably North London) but can't seem to find anything as creative as the one my friend's child attends in Edinburgh. That nursery is called Cowgate Under 5s.
What appealed to me was the emphasis on a pleasant and creative environment, a range of activities and development of practical, real-world skills (I think the children bake everyday -- measuring out ingredients by working together), children mixing with different age groups, and encouragement of imagination and play rather than structured school-like curriculum.
Does anyone know of something similar in London? Froebelian principles (that children learn through spontaneous play and engaging with the world around them) have a strong influence on the way the nursery is run, so perhaps another nursery run by someone trained in the same style of childcare. Or perhaps a nursery that embraces a similar ethos whether Froebelian or not?
Thanks!
