Settling in at Pre School

DD1 is 3 and a half and started at pre school a few days ago, afternoons for two and a half hours and one full day (but she won't do the full day until she is settled). The first afternoon was fine but yesterday and today she was very upset after I left and they called me to return. When I came back she said accusingly 'you left me at nursery'!

Any advice as to how long it takes them to settle in - I have been at home with her and younger sister and she has never been looked after by anyone outside the family before. I am happy to stay with her for as long as it takes but I do want her to learn to be independent and be able to talk to other adults outside the family. She talks really well with a great vocabulary but will only say a few words to the nursery staff!!

I should add that we have been to many toddler groups and she is used to other children.

Dd took a couple of months. She cried on going and I had to collect her a couple of times. However, I did end up asking the pre school if the could make more efforts to distract and try and keep her there as she got into the habit of expecting me to come back if she asked for me

Just want to add that she also isn't looked after by anyone else and now LOVES it. She is upset in the morning when she realises she isn't going
