Three full days or two full, two half... Which would be better?

We have some flexibility with nursery sessions and I'm just trying to work out what would be best. He's 10mo and currently does one full and one half day. I anticipate he'll be at this nursery til school.
Half days are good at the moment because it's less full on for him and I feel like he has more time with me or family (even if it's the same total hours), but on a full day the nursery gets into a good routine with him and he is more settled, and it's less running around for us.
Anyone got any thoughts?

I'd definitely say 3 full days at this stage. It's the getting out the door and in to nursery that's the hard bit and as you say he is more settled for a full day then that seems like the best option for all.

When DS moved to school I changed my schedule and now work mostly school hours which is tricky to run out the door, but good for DS as he's hardly in after school club - although it's tricky during the holidays !

Thanks, rookiemater, that's helpful. Full days feel like a lot at the moment but I think that's because he's still quite small. Luckily enough (though because I have a big commute), I'm not going to be the one doing the nursery runs!

I would say 3 full days too, it helps with routines and your DS won't get confused about where he is/what he is doing that day, as nursery days are all the same.

I had this discussion with our nursery manager and went with 3 full days. My main concern was a logistical one. The half day finished at 12.30 and DS usually sleeps from 12.00 - 1.15/1.30. I didn't want them to have to try & keep a tired child away for 30 mins but nor did I want to pick up a child who had napped for 30 mins & would be able to get through the rest of the day without more sleep but would be really grumpy.
The manager's concern were more to do with how confusing it would be for DS. His lip definitely wobbles at drop off but he is, apparently, fine within minutes. Obviously, 2 full days & 2 half days would mean more drop offs. And would DS understand the pattern of short & long days or would he always start to look for me after lunch &, on long days, continue to look after me all afternoon?
Also, what would I have done with a (potentially grumpy) 2yo of an afternoon? Most of the baby groups local to us are in the morning; many of my old friends live 45 mins away so I tend to visit them for a few hours which would no longer be possible etc.

For you, 3 full days. For your DS, I would say 2 full days and 2 half days, making sure the full days aren't in a row.
