dd (11 months) not eating at nursery

My dd has just started nursery 4 days a week, 8-6 and she seems really happy there but she isn't eating. As a result she's waking in the night again usually around 4 then staying awake all night - she's knackered, we're knackered and I'm trying to get to grips with a new job on no sleep. Anyone got any tips?

How old is she and how long has this been going on for? It may take her a little while to get used to eating together with a different group of children. Does she at least have the snacks there?

Our nine month old does the same hours and is refusing to drink at nursery. We are topping him up before he goes and giving him 2 bottles in the evening. I spoke to the health visitor about it last week and she said not to worry, yet. Have to say I am still worried though so can empathise.

Its quite common but the teachers will help, it will take a little time. I get the same way when I'm not feeling secure or unsettled i go off my food and the thought of eating makes me feel ill. Hunger and thirst will get the better of her though.

she's 11 months. It has only been a week but it's having such a big impact on her that I'm really worried. She doesn't really eat the snacks as she's not big on finger food. I've had to increase the number of bottles she's having back to four but I'm worried that's counter-productive.

I think it will only be short term. Does she like one of the staff more than the others?

Hi,

I know this thread is a few weeks old but I have only just read it so sorry! My ds didnt eat when he started at nursery and as he is on the 1st percentile in those damn growth charts anyway I was v worried, but in a few weeks ( and after much help from the staff) he stared to eat and now his form says 'all eaten' for breakfast, lunch and tea! Id be careful upping the milk as this will stop your dd getting hungry and she wont eat. i used to give my ds a full tea when we got home and as he was only 3 days a week i decided hed be okay. I did go to see my health visitor who said no baby has starved themselves to death - and i think shes right. With hindsight my dh and i had been the only people to feed him before he went to nursery( at 10mnths) so i suppose it took a while to get used to. Sorry if this is a bit rambly( is that a word!) but i just wanted to say Im sure all will be fine.Hope your dd is okay and eating the nursery dry.
