Hi - first time mum, first time poster (please be gentle with me :)

Starting to face up to the scramble for good nursery places, and will be visiting a few soon. Would welcome any tips on what questions I should be asking to help size up where's good, bad and indifferent. What would you ask?

I looked at 8 nurseries and by the end, I had pretty much stopped asking Qs, I just wanted to watch them interact with the children.

I did ask what the age ranges were in each room, I personally like small ranges but obv that is personal preference.

If they go off premises for trips or have people come in. Quite a few had "the farm" come in - I never did get to the bottom of which farm it was!

Ask for a copy of the menu and a timetable of the routine. And how they deal with weaning, puree vs blw etc.
