they have decided to do a trip next Tues to Gullivers world. they dont have enough room on the mini bus and so half the kid arent going.

They have decided to just have the children who are regulars at nursery on Tuesdays and to hell with the rest. Unfortunately that means my ds doesnt get to go.

Now, it is fine that there isnt enough room on the bus but wouldnt it make sense to either

a) hire a bus so all the kids can go
b) split the class into half so half go on a Tues and the other half go on a Thurs?

I feel so peeved about it but dont know how to handle it. I asked about it and they said the letters had gone to all the other parents and so far there had been no cancellations. DS doesnt know about it yet but I feel so cross for all the children who will miss out. ds is 4.

so, what would you do and would you be peeved.

DS2 is off to the monkey gardens and ds1 wants to know if he can go!!

My DD doesn't attend nursery on a Friday - it seems loads of stuff happens on a Friday - red nose party day, 'go to nursery in dress up gear' etc. etc. She doesn't go Fridays, so I don't expect her to be included.

Well I would be very upset if this happened at my playgroup too and I would complain about the other kids not being taken into consideration. All those kids who do go on the trip will be talking about how much fun it was and what a great day they had etc etc. Not nice for those kids who just happen not to attend on that particular day to hear.

Any playgroup worth their salt would split the trip into two groups if they couldn't accommodate them all in one go.

Thank you QE.

It is over now and we had a fab day out at Tatton Park yesterday so blahhhhh! to nursery.

My point was I was cross that the trip wasnt for all the kids and should have been split in 2 groups so they could ALL go. Not that boohoo! my ds wasnt going. He goes to 'big' school in sept and it would have been nice as a leaver to go on his first trip.

So, the end. And thank you for those who could see my POV.

I would expect for any activity out of the ordinary that all parents are informed and told that their children can attend if parents come too. If there is a space issue then parents need to carshare etc. To be honest I would prefer to drive my son myself rather than entrust him to the tender mercies of someone else's driving.

This is the normal practice for the two nurseries that my son has attended.
