Should I Change DSs Room at Nursery?

At DS's nursery there are 2 rooms that have both anti-pre and pre-school children in them ie/ aged from 3 to 5years. When he moved up into this class at 3.5yrs I wanted him to go into (for example) Class 1 with his friends, but they put him in Class 2. There is an equal number of children in each class that will be going to his primary school.

I couldn't understand why they hadn't put him in Class 1 with his friends (I think it was overlooked) and there wasn't a space for him so he has been in Class 2 since August, and made new friends there. He will be one of the youngest when he starts school in August and I think Class 1 does have more older children in it.

So, a space has now come up in Class 1. Should I move DS now when he has 7 months to go until starting school, or do I leave him where he is? My gut instinct is leave him but I asked him and he said the other class was "cooler" (!!)

Not sure if it would unsettle him moving or not. He does spend 30 mins in Class 1 in the mornings before going into Class 2 as it is the early drop off room.

Any advice? Thank You

I would leave him where he is. He will be going through a big transition in the summer and I don't think the other class being "cooler" is enough reason to change things now.
