Teacher and nursery drop offs?

If you are a teacher (and therefore HAVE to leave for school by 8 latest of you won't make lesson 1), how do you manage the nursery drop off? My DD is starting nursery in September and I have only just realised that it starts at 8.45. This is too late for me to drop her and then get to school. I'm sure you mumsnetters can tell me the solution...what do you do if the morning drop off means you can't get to work on time?

the nursery that is the feeder for the primary school she's going to (she'll be 3) starts at 9.45...

Erm dud you see that hsmmacm had given an answer. Could a childminder not take her from 8am??

Do you/your DD have friends who live close and go/will go to the same nursery? One teacher I know drops her son off with her friend (the children know each other well) who takes him along with her child. I think my friend returns the favour at pick up time so it's not a one-sided arrangement...

What are you doing at the moment?

The nursery which feeds into DS' primary school didn't open until 8:45 either. For that reason, I left him in his private day nursery until he went into reception.

When he started school I dropped down to 0.7 and requested that I don't work lesson 1. I don't get a day off, but I never start work before 10am. This gives me time to drop DS off, catch the bus with DD to drop her at private nursery, and then get to work.

Have you thought what you will do when DD starts school?

When my dc's were small ( till 3) they went to a private nursery and the drop off was from 7.

When they joined the nursery attached to their primary school ( at about 3) they went to a child minder who did the drop off and pick up- they then stayed with her when they went to school.

you have a few options

arrange your work so you start later
share nursery drop-offs with her dad, i.e he drops off and you pick up
send her to another nursery that has opening hours that suit your needs better
take her to a CM in the morning and the CM can take her to nursery
ask a friend or family member

Dad does drop off...I have your problem and our nursery starts at 7.45
