DS received birthday invitation's today

As titled, DS received another boy's birthday invitation today. This is the first time we got this:). I am happy that DS has some good mates in the nursery.

However, I have no experience in dealing with this. Do we need to tick the 'attend or not' option in the invitation and then return it to the boy's parents? But I actually don't know the boy and the boy's parents. Or shall we MSG the parents and let them know we will be attending? Do we need to provide a present for the boy? And normally how much value's present is deemed appropriate?

Anyone helps me, plsBlush

Call the parents if there is a number. Present and a card, maybe £5 for the present.

If there is a mobile number either call or text. Yes to a present I would say £5-£7 is the average spend around here

I text replies and get a present worth £5-£7ish.

I text replies and spend about £7 on a present
