Dd starts nursery soon! I'm very anxious!

My dd is two and a half and has been looked after primarily by my dh and mum whilst I'm at work. She was painfully shy when she was younger but is much better. She is starting nursery two days a week in January and I am very anxious that suddenly leaving her all day with strangers in a new environment is going to terrify her when all she has ever known is me, my husband and mum. She has some free hours to go in with me but I'm not convinced three hours is going to be enough to then suddenly put her in all day on her own. The thought of her being upset and scared makes me cry?

I was the same when my DD started Nursery at 3.3. I'd never left her with anyone, even family so was really worried that she wouldn't cope but she was fine. Not even one tear. I found that it was mostly boys who were upset. Even if she is a bit upset it will get better with time I promise Smile

why don't you talk to them and ask if you can do a longer settling in period?

any good nursery won't mind this, in my experience
