Dilemma re Nurseries

Decided to start DD at nursery for one morning a week. She is nearly 27 months old. I am at home with her and we have a fairly full week of activities including playgroups. Feel I need a break (no relatives around. She is very sociable (sometimes embarrasingly so). Came back from hols and she seemed desperate to see her little friends (asked for them by name) but no one around. Think she needs it especially as summer hols coming and all activities stop. A favourite friend is at same nursery on that day so should be OK. I tried her at 1 year, but she was so distressed for half an hour during trial sessions. Anyway, dilemma is that another nursery (more like preschool) has just confirmed they have a place for her starting this sept for 2 mornings. I now think she would be better starting this at nearer 3 as it is quite structured and would be ideal just before starting school. I decided not to go back to work to have time at home with her and I just could not have put her into a nursery any earlier than now! Should I stick with the one morning that starts in July and defer the pre school for a while? Any experience, advice appreciated.

Give her a try, especially if you want a little break. Nothing wrong it needing a bit of time out yourself. Now she is older she will probbaly love nursery and playing with lots of little friends.

Sorry I just realised my post made no sense at all .. if it was my child I'd put her in the preschool nursery .. my DD is desperate to be allowed to go to nursery (she was 2 in May) ... and she has spent about 7 mornings in there whilst I've been doing stuff for the school .. she absolutely adores it .. she's the classroom pet (because all the other children are over 3.5) .. the structured play is not really structured as such just different forms of play available.

But really go with your gut feeling because you know her best

Thanks Twigglet for advising me on how not to sound silly. I am torn as I know she will love being with her little friend at one nursery but she will be in a room with children all the same age whereas at the preschool one she will be with older children as well which she loves. Hmmmm.
