Nurseries and Childcare in Whitton

My family and I are looking to move to Whitton in the not too distant future and I am looking at the childcare situation in the area. Does anyone have any recommendation for good nurseries or childminders? My daughter is 17 months old. Any help would be gratefully received!

I live in Whitton. But afraid I have never used a nursery or childminder there. I can advise on some childminders in Twickenham. But that might not be helpful.

Hi Strix, We might have to consider Twickenham depending on how we get on with Whitton. Anywhere north of the station might be ok if you know anything around there (at least it means I can drop her off on the way to the station!)!

Which station are you thinking of? Times are probably important, if you work in the city.

It needs to be accessible from Whitton or Twickenham stations I think. Am still working out how best to get to work (I work in Russell square) in the shortest time!

I work in the city, and commute in from Whitton. Although you can also take the 281 (goes by the stadium) to Twickenham train station. I guess depends on where your house is. Trains to/from Twickenham are a lot more frequent than Whitton.

But, I would stress the importance if thinking about where you want your children to go to school and try to coordinate where you live and who looks after your children.

We live in Whitton, our kids go to school in Twickenham, and the only way to make this work is to have an au pair who takes the kids to/from school, activities, childminder, etc.

As for travel there the tube lines don't really go very direct for you. I would recommend train to waterloo (all trains from Twick / Whitton go to Waterloo). So I would do a bus from waterloo that goes up to Holborn and walk from there (e.g. 243, 521, etc.)

Thank you for your help Strix (and sorry about the delay!).
