So, apart from the obvious things like asking for Ofsted report, what questions do I need to ask of prospective nurseries for my baby?

how often do they go outside, food & snacks, where they sleep. where do they do nappies, do they provide nappeis/wipes. what the routine is.
at what ages do they progress to the next rooms.

how long have the staff been working there (ask the staff not management). are there regular bank staff (I think it's good if they do as the children get to know them and see them as they progress through).
