no pushchairs allowed?

This morning I have been told at nursery that as from today no one could leave the pushchair in their premises during the day. There is a new manager for like 2-3 days and it comes from her. She said is due to H&S issues, but I think is more the case of keeping the reception area tidy, as pushchairs have always been left in a corner behind a few armchairs that no one use. Just wandering if they could do that without a notice, as it is not possible for me to make another journey to home in the morning and another in the evening. My DD is 17 months and will not be able to walk along me, more running around and also be tired when I pick her up, also too heavy to carry (15 min bus journey and walking) thanks for your thoughts.

What a pain. Do they not have an outside covered area where they could be left? I'd say at 17 months you could still use a sling like an ergo but actually if I was dressed for work I'd not want my ds dribbling on me! This wild be a problem for me as when I used nurseries I didn't drive so a buggy was my only option.

They can do that, yes. It's their nursery so they can make thir own rules.

I would ask where you can store it now- they should provide a space outside where you can store a pushchair- where do they keep the nursery ones?

Thank you all. I will talk again to Manager on Monday. The Nursery is in Leasure center and downstairs there are 5 or 6 buggy locks, but they are for the little buggies you can borrow at the faculty. The lady at reception was more than clear that it is not safe to leave my buggy there during the day and also suggested to talk again to Manager. I hope she sees light and reconsider, as this is not helpful to any parent not driving to work. Nurseries are not tidy, they are suppose to be useful.
