15 hours free child care, what do I need to do?

DS1 has just turned 3 & already attends nursery 2 days a week. I just kind of assumed his 15 free hours would start automatically as I've not had anything from the nursery. Do I need to do anything?

He only gets it from the term after he turns 3, so it will probably be after Easter. Have a word with your nursery - you need to check when they offer the free sessions as there is no guarantee that they offer it on the days he attends, or if they do, for the whole of each day. You normally have to complete a form (sometimes the nursery will do this for you).
