Bottle at nursery

DD had final settling in today and will be starting on Tues. She seemed really happy all the time she was there but refused a bottle from them and then me. She was so hungry in the end that I had to bf. She has had bottles on and off once a day since she was around 10 weeks old and has never ever refused one. I am now of course getting myself into a state that she won't eat at nursery.... Experiences that would tell me otherwise please!!!!

probably to interested in what was going on? how old is she? if she is having solids I wouldn't worry, she's not going to starve herself

mine stubbornly refused bottles in the beginning. took only 2oz from bottle on day 1. by the end of the week took only 5 oz all day. by the second week was fine. No baby will deliberately starve herself. Needs must. She then went on to be the youngest baby at nursery to hold her own bottle.

Thank you! She is only 5mnths and is not taking any solids yet. I want to settle her into one change before I start the next one!

oh, she's very little then. Nurseries are busy places with lots of people. She's probably just taking it all in.
Once's she's settled I'm sure she will be fine.

I am a childminder and i quite often find that children do this because they want to play and do other things as they are so excited to be somewhere new with new toys. I wouldnt worry, i know it is easier said than done and i am postive she wont starve herself.

My baby wouldn't have a bottle on his first day at nursery (then aged 10 months). Wouldn't eat either. But on his second day he was OK. I think he was just used to me or my husband giving a bottle and no one else had ever given him one or fed him.
