Is wine an ok Christmas gift?

DD is 22 months and has been going to nursery one day a week since September. I want to get something for her to give her key worker to say thank you at Christmas. I was thinking of getting a nice bottle of wine or something, but I wondered if that would be ok? I figured she'd probably get loads of chocolates & biscuits etc.

Is it ok to single out her key worker or should I be getting something for all the workers in the room?

Key workers tend to just the named person for your DD. Other staff may care for your DD just as much, so IMO wouldn't seem right to single out your DD key worker.

Agree they are likely to get lots of choc etc. Why not speak to manager to see if they have a Christmas do etc and you can put a small donation into that to help buy a round

Howver, We don't buy Christmas gifts for our nursery staff, but when DC move up a class at nursery we have brought a small voucher for Argos for each member of staff in room (luckily only small nursery , not that many staff), with a thank you note. That way they get a bigger gift to buy something they want (and will always remember your DD for - one staff brought herself a watch and will remember our DD every time she looks at the time) and you don't buy as often. Plus it's at an unexpected time to receive a gift (our DD moved class in September), so they seemed really touched by the thought/gift.
