Nurseries in Hitchin

Hi all

We will be moving to Hitchin after Christmas and I need to think about a nursery for our DD

The nearest nurseries to us will be Kinders Mill and Smartys. Does anyone have any experience of these?

Any suggestions of good ways to meet people will also be greatly appreciated as we don't know anyone!

I live outside , but it's my nearest big place. I haven't used either nursery, and don't think I know anyone who uses them.

I strongly recommend that you post something similar on Netmums. The North Herts local boards (Hitchin, Stevenage, villages around) is very active indeed. There's bound to be lots of people who use both on there.

If you want your dd to do swimming lessons put your name down now. The waiting list is horrendous (took 2.5 years for my 6yo to get lessons).

Hitchin is great, and has a lovely Waitrose. The always seems to be lots going on for Pre-school age children, but mine are older than that now so I'm a bit out of touch.

Just thought of one - tennis at HBS. Pretty sure they do a class for Pre-schoolers. The classes for older children seem to attract a friendly bunch of parents so I assume the Pre-school age one would be the same.

I don't know the area - but I also found netmums reviews helpful. Also another great website is kidzcare compare. You can compare the different facilities, opening times...etc for the nurseries and they also have some reviews too.
