Starting Nursery

hello.
My DS (2.5) starts nursery on Monday. Its the nursery at the Uni I'm going to, and because its a uni nursery its only open term time (i.e. starts Monday). So, he has no settling in sessions and I have induction at 9am on monday, nursery opens at 8:30. So I'll have 20 minutes to get him in the doors and then leave him there for hours.

Please tell me he'll be ok. What should I do on monday to help settle him?
TIA

Make sure you bring his favourite toy / teddy that will comfort him if he's upset. Comfort him by talking to him at eye level telling him that mummy is going away to do xyz and promises to come back and collect him later and ask him to draw a picture for you. Give plenty of kisses and cuddles, there will no doubt be tears as he may not understand why you are leaving him but it will get easier once he connects the fact that 'mummy ALWAYS comes back for me' and he'll soon be having so much fun that collecting him may be trickier ;-)
Nursery staff are so well trained that they'll have your DS distracted in no time and having the best fun ever. Good luck at Uni

Thank you Steth. That's made me feel better. He's never been to Nursery before and he's my only child so I have no experience with any of this.
