Gift for nursery keyworker & staff?

hi all, my 4 year old DS is finishing at his nursery end of this week, moving on to reception. He's been so very happy there for the last 2 years, and we've been so happy with the care of all the staff and particularly his (male) keyworker.

Any ideas for a gift for the keyworker who as I said is male and also for the rest of the staff? I thought something for the keyworker and then a group gift eg chocolates? for the rest of the staff. What would you choose do you think?

When my DS left his nursery I bought the staff some posh chocolates and then got a new toy for the nursery to use. Wanted something they'd find useful.

Great idea (re the toy). I could then get the toy for the nursery & the chocolates for keyworker?

Cards for individual staff with personal messages, really make us feel valued!!

Vouchers are also nice, lots of parents give wine or chocolate which although is nice, is rubbish if your on a diet or don't drink.

One thing that really grates on me is when parents write a lovely card to the nursery thanking all the people who took care of x and especially 2 members of staff out of 12. If you want to say a special thank you, i would do it individually, as sometimes its like a slap in the face not at all bitter is me

I'd second small individual staff gifts over a communal tin of chocolate, as often part time staff come in to find a note and an empty tin bitter, moi?
The best gift I got from a DC leaving nursery was a lip balm and a small chocolate, wrapped with a hand written note for me.
Nursery workers work very hard for barely above minimum wage, and will be unreasonably grateful for a thoughtful named gift.
Do you know much about the key worker's likes/dislikes (ask your DC, they talk with key workers a lot ), perhaps get your DC to draw a picture for him.

Thanks so much everyone for the ideas. In the end I bought some nice chocolates for DS's keyworker (and a personal card for him). I also bought some small toys for the nursery & a biscuit tin for the staff (plus card for the staff).

It was in fact very very sad saying goodbye today & picking up DS for the last time :( He's been so happy there for 2 years. Am in need of large glass of wine...
