Feelings on male nursery staff

I recently saw a thread from last year in which someone was furious that her DD had been taken to the toilet by a male member of staff without female supervision. This attitude both disgusted and angered me and I am now curious to hear the feelings of others on male nursery staff.

I'd be happy with male or female nursery workers.

The nursery DS2 and DD went to had two male members of staff, both of whom were fantastic (as were all the staff ). This nursery also had a real mix of young and older staff members - all in all the kind of "normal" mix of people you would expect your kids to come across. I find the attitude that male members of staff should need supervision taking kids to the toilet quite offensive tbh, like the recent fuss where Qantas cabin crew tried to get a male (teacher) to move because he was sitting next to an unaccompanied minor - "company policy" apparently! Sexism is alive and well.
