I waited since feb to hear that my DD had not got a place a both places, my 1st choice is 805metres from house apparently we are 200m out of catchment area. I feel so gutted and bad for my child not to have a place yet 3 door neighbour go to that school , feeling so so so bad and it just feels like my DD has been rejected not even 1 nursery offered DD place imagine, lyke l do not have enough thing to worry about. Any one out there going through what l am going through??????????????

Are there any community pre-schools or playgroups she could attend?
She could also use her 15 hrs there.

I suspect that when your neighbours applied to the school there was less demand on places, therefore they could get in from further away.

Sorry you are so upset, but take it as a sign to look carefully at what you put down when it comes to school admissions.

Try not to see it as a rejection, our nursery has around 150 places in September and usually none by Easter. Although she is entitled to a place now, she will still get a full year of nursery if she starts in September. Have you tried private nurseries at all? They are not allowed to charge anything for the free 15 hours.
Good Luck.

We haven't heard yet......

There may be some movement on their waiting list, people change their minds all the time. Ask them where you are on the list, whilst looking at other options. Don't take it personally!

Sorry swiggle, that really is pants, I really hope you get a place. We usually have a few drop out and have got really strict with non-attenders. Many local authorities are refusing to pay nurseries for non-attenders now so they will be withdrawing places sooner too. IMO you have a very good chance of getting a place if your daughter is 2nd on the list.

Good luck
