-Undecided - shall I send him today?

Ds is 2.10, and goes to a preschool twice a week, which he LOVES.

he has recently had a horrible cough and cold, and is still full of snot, and rattley chested, but is so full of beans that I am debating whther or not to send him.

I don't want to send him if he will give the other kids this cold (although that's where he caught it from) or if he is more likely to catch something else.

I can't ask him, the answer will automnaticallt be yes, then if I don't take him he will be devastated.

i'd say not if chest sounds rattly.

I don't think you can worry too much about spreading colds, everywhere is full of it this time of year anyway. I would send him.

throckenholt · 06/02/2006 10:17

if he is improving then he is probably not infectious any more - and any way it is probably going round.

If you think he is up to it I would send him.

By rattley I mean it is loosening, he also has an inhaler so I don't know how much of the cough is a touch of asthma.

UI have just given him some sudafed to dry his nose up a bit.

if you think he's on the mend i'd keep him off and then send him next week when he's properly better.

Thanks for all your input. Still undecided!

I kept DD from nursery, which she adores, one day last week because of a cold. She was full of it and I knew she would tire really easy and was more likely to be sensitive about things and get grumpy possibly. Really glad I did as well as she really wasn't herself.

I struggled with this, this morning. DD has just gone in!
