Please help anyone desperately looking for f/t place for 7 month old ds from April-workplace nursery place failed to materialise as promised. Work at Charing X hospital on Fulham Palace Rd so needs to be within 10-20 mins drive. Want it near work as my hours are long-start 0830 latest0800 more usual and finish near 6 so would be difficu;t to use a nursery near home (Wandsworth).
Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi Grall

Is there still a Jigsaw nursery in H/smith Broadway? Never used it but handy for ChX, maybe even poss to do it on foot. We used Little People in W12 6 years ago now - loved it for babies as small and cosy, we switched to a nanny when DS came along so a bit out of touch, plus this may be too far for you. I think there is sister branch of LP in Fulham which may be on your way in (think negotiating the traffic in W6 on a nursery deadline would be unbearably stressful) HTH and good luck

Thank you-was put off little people fulham by some comments on this board but will maybe go check it out for myself! I know what you mean about the traffic...

Agree have a look for ourself - I have posted often against H Times in R Park but people who use them now say that after a change in management they have improved. They do offer a longer day too. LP still the same management I happen to know as i saw her the other day, one thing that is changing is as birthrate falls there is more supply than demand at present round here, so fewer children in each centre - fewer staff too I presume, but still should make for a cosier less frantic environment. Hope you find something you like. Sx

Thanks all-so far have checked out HT in Ravenscourt Park and was not impressed-a bit shabby and chaotic-liked leapfrog in Bute Gdns and saplings in Fulham still have several others to visit-will post update for others future info when have visited them all

I'm bumping this thread because I need a nursery in the Fulham SW6 area asap for DS 8 months. Does anyone have any recent experience or recommendations?

Have you tried Active Learning? My DD has just started and I am very impressed.

FlyingSaucer · 03/09/2007 23:52

Thanks very much for the replies. I haven't heard of Active Learning but have just found it on the web and will make an appointment to view it. I have visited Kiddie Caru and thought the staff there were really good.

Iwasthinking I should love to discuss Active learning with you if you have a moment. My email address is [email protected].

I have heard that Happy Times or Bobby's near Parsons green tube are good for children of that young age. Has anyone else got experience of these?

FlyingSaucer · 21/09/2007 15:39

I have now visited Happy Times and Active Learning. Happy Times has good purpose built facilities, but the staff appeared not to have any real enthusiasm for the babies and toddlers and seemed disinterested.

Active Learning is amazing. It is unlike any other nursery I have seen. The facilities are incredible and have to be seen to be believed, and the staff seem to love what they do, which is probably more important.
