Good nurseries in Hackney

My son has been going to a nursery in Hackney, full time for nearly 6 months. I was never completely comfortable with the nursery but he has developing well and seems generally happy. However, he seems to be growing more and more detached from his friends there and my instincts say I need to move him.
I wonder if anyone has any advice on good nurseries that may not have a long waiting list and are near to the Homerton area? I'm feeling a bit desperate to be honest, as he's been on several waiting lists since he was born 2.5 years ago and I've given up hope of them ever turning into anything!

To be honest I think that all of the good nurseries in the area will have long waiting lists. Have you looked at the Montessori on the Park by St Mark's Gate? That is quite good but I suspect waiting list is quite long. There is also the Wetherell Nursery but that has been going through a bit of a rough patch. However, I've been told that it's now got good management and is improving.

I would suggest calling the nurseries on which he's been on the waiting lists on a regular basis and even dropping by. If you're in their mind then there is less chance you'll be overlooked.

Which nursery are you currently at if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you, I'll look at Montessori on the Park.
He's at Places for Children. It's not a bad nursery but I think he's grown out of it and needs better stimulation.
I've actually been calling the nurseries and it looks as though there's a chance with Mapledene Children's Centre. Let's hope.
