Recommendations for nurseries in Parsons Green?

I thought I was organised but shocked to hear my friends saying I should get a move on with finding a nursery place for when I go back to work already (I'm 26 weeks and not planning to use a nursery until April 2013!)

I'm not sure where to start, can anyone recommend any good places to look for reviews for Parsons Green nurseries?

Ideally I'd like somewhere that could be flexible with several full / half days per week potentially. I'm not really sure what criteria I should be comparing places by. I don't need bi-lingual (I think many of them may be in this area) but just would like somewhere that is (obviously) fun & friendly, good child/adult ratios, low staff turnover, good facilities / outdoor play and within 10/15 mins walk of Parsons Green tube.

When you are drawing up a short list, are you simply visiting, talking to the staff and going by gut feeling on suitability to you/your family?

How do I find the secret gems with the waiting lists I need to get on now?

Thanks for your help.
