Eating at nursery

my 10 MO son has just started settling in sessions at nursery. I left him alone today for 2 hours and unsurprisingly, I suppose, he wasn't interested in having any lunch, and in fact got quite upset. The nursery workers assured me this is normal. But the problem is the nursery feeds the kiddies lunch at 11.30, which is a good hour before my DS normally has lunch. He isn't the worlds best eater, so there is no way anyone will persuade him to have his lunch if he's not hungry, which he just isn't at 11.30 (he has his breakfast at 8, which is the same time the nursery serves breakfast, so it's not like he has breakfast abnormally late).
Now I don't know what to do for the best. Should I speak to the nursery about giving my son lunch later, or should I just wait it out until he naturally adapts to the nursery's routine. And giving he is only there 2 days per week, is there any guarantee he will actually adapt to their routine?

Sorry for the ramble. Am not a fussy mum, but DS is skin and bone as it is, so I really don't want him losing weight because of nursery.

When my ds started in baby room at nursery he was 11mo, totally anti-routine, and generally ate lunch later. They assured me that if he was uninterested or asleep he did get offered lunch a few times, and after the first short sessions ate it and tea very happily if he was awake.
Around 18mo he was just about on the baby room routine, but still prone to the odd nap they couldn't rouse him from.

I'd check he will still get to eat but otherwise leave it unless they seem to think he has to be on their routine or else.

In the baby room at my nursery, we follow the parents request for routines, most of the older babies are on the nursery routine however loads still sleep through the standard lunch time and have their lunch later.

I would just ask the nursery to feed him earlier Smile
