Now the Family Information Directory on the government websites has been closed (and the advice on this website is therefore out of date), has anybody got any ideas about how to search for a nursery by postcode on the net?

If you look on your councils website under family information services there will be a phone number you can call monday-friday for information as i know there is still one operating in my area .. its ofsted, word of mouth or the yellow pages :)

You could try your local council - they should have a list of nurseries. I am looking and have chosen mine by asking every single mum. I then went to this site

www.findmyschool.co.uk

which has details on nurseries - I selected the one with the best ofsted reports

I have created a free website to support all of you wonderful parents out there in your search for Childcare, I hope it helps and wish all of you the best of luck:)

Best wishes Mrs Nursery

I used that when I too found out the directgov site had gone. If the nursery has a website, it has a link to it andsome even have links to request a brochure.
