Hi I'm just starting to look at nurseries for my baby girl in the Stockbridge, Trinity, Inverleith area of Edinburgh and I was wondering if anyone had any they would recommend and also ones not to consider. Thanks!

I've got my boys at Heriothill (at the bottom of Broughton Road). It is a big, busy nursery which suits them, but I thought wouldn't necessarily appeal to others. But actually it seems to have a very good reputation - on paper and by word of mouth.

They started at 18 months so didn't try out the baby room. The toddlers have access to a music/sensory room which they love and they don't come home as exhausted as I'd been warned to expect. Each age-group has it's own garden which is small and with a soft surface rather than grass (so more outdoor space than garden) which I wasn't keen on initially - but it is coping with Scottish weather better than grass does.

My search area was east of yours, so I didn't look anywhere else that might suit.

Local toddler groups are great for nursery gossip.
