Surrey nurseries...again!

We used to live in Wimbledon and Raynes Park, loved it. The LO came along and we fell off our chairs when we saw nursery prices in the area (£1,300 for fulltime, 5 days). We visited a nursery in Wallington we liked and were told that we'd get a place for him there. We moved to the area - then didn't get a place at the nursery!:( Plus, we're not too fond of where we're living, a lot more crime than we're used to! So, we ideally want to move back towards Wimbledon...but struggling to find a nusery we can afford. Would be grateful for any suggestions. We can probably afford around £1,000 a month, but any more than that we just can't manage. Plus we have to like, of course! xxx

Oh, sorry - I know Wimbledon and Raynes Park aren't in Surrey, but we're pretty much stuck around SW London/Surrey for my husband's work. Unfortunately, considering how expensive it is. At least it's pretty! :)

Which side of Wallington?
As its very nice towards Woodcote area on the border of Wallington. There is Teddies nursery in Coulsdon which is only 5 mins down the road.
Or Banstead is very nice and (much like Wimbledon) but there is no Nursery so it would still be Teddies or there is one in Woodcote High School.
There is not much crime in Coulsdon-West/Chipstead/Woodcote or Banstead I believe.

Just a thought....

We're on the other side of Wallington (the wrong side!;)), but we're looking to move closer to Wimbledon for commuting purposes. I know areas of Wallington are VERY nice but are considering more around Epsom, Worcester Park, Kingston etc.

My children have all been (dd2 is currently there) at Little Acorns in Cobham, I'm not sure if that's too far from you, it's very accessible from the Painshill A3 junction.

The cost of a full-time baby place is £918, then £863 and £769 per month for 2-3 years and 3-5 years respectively (I have just looked on their website). If you have 2 children there you get a 10% discount. I think that is really competitive for the area (there are far more expensive nurseries within a 5 mile radius) and the nursery has a good Ofsted, low staff turnover, my children have been really happy there. It's probably about 20 mins from Wimbledon though, that might be a bit far, I guess it depends where you move to. (Website is www.littleacornsdaynursery.com)

Good luck,

Helen
