Our neighbour tree has badly damaged a party wall.I asked her if we could go halv6on replacing it ,we live opposite a primary school, the children have to walk next to it .The response was violet and aggressive. We have paid 2 and a half thousand pounds to repIr the wall thinking that would be the end of it .She is working from home ,telling our builders what to do and secretly filming them .She had my cat in her house for 2 years and has destroyed my plants ,what can I do ?

Tell the council?

She had your cat in her house for TWO YEARS?!

surreygirly · 04/12/2025 10:30

Sadly not much other than move
Council have no responsibility unless they own the houses

Council wont be able to do anything unless its council owned.

You need some sort of party wall agreement to work on the party wall, do you have one? As a party wall the neighbour does have a say on what is done to it, but this should all have been sorted out before the work started with the party wall agreement.

Did you not ask for your cat back? Did they know the cat had a home? Very odd.

Is your house in danger of falling down on children walking past? Or are you talking about a shared garden wall?
