Can't get rid of baby clothes 🙁

My little boy is 2 now nearly 3 and I just have boxes and boxes of clothes that I can't get rid of! I kept them thinking I would have another baby but don't think we will!

I just can't get rid of them, every time I see them I just remember him that little! Is anyone else like this ??

Yes, I desperately wanted another child and had multiple IVF cycles that either failed or ended in MC. When I finally had to accept it wasn’t going to happen, it was still a couple of years before I could get rid of all the baby clothes we had moved from one house to another. I sobbed as I bagged them all up. DH just didn’t get it at all ‘they’re just clothes’ but they were more than that, it was the final acceptance of never having another child.

I struggle too.

Can you go through it all and do one of two things depending on your level of bravery !

  1. Pick out ... 10? or chose a number - of things you allow yourself to keep as little memories and take the rest to a nice charity shop.

if that's too much

  1. Go through and try to reduce it by half. Make a pile of the things you could bare to part with on the provisio that there's a nice big pile to keep 😊

In my case i re did this every year or so and ended up keeping a few favourite coats and more expensive baby grows and first shoes. (i have 4 kids!)

There's no need to torture yourself over this. Look at doing it over time. In fact - it's a nice idea to keep some bits ...

My eldest has just had a baby and because i kept her baby grows and coats so nicely she's been able to put her baby into some of the things she herself wore and we're both daftly happy and emotional about it lol

(i've hung on to the first shoes though ....)
