Present ideas for our new mum friend

Hi!

I'm looking for ideas for a gift hamper for our friend and baby (due in April 2023). She is the first in our friendship group to get pregnant so I'm a bit clueless! I'm looking for help with useful presents that she will actually use!

So far, speaking with parents I've been recommended for baby:

  • Sudocrem
  • baby nail clippers
  • thermometer and bath thermometer
  • baby hairbrush
  • muslin cloths
  • Bucket bath
  • bibs
  • baby shampoo and body wash
  • socks and sock-ons
  • grobag
  • Your Baby Week - by - Week book

For Mum I was thinking just the usual, smellies, candles, face masks etc. but I know there is probably something she will need more than these?

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated or if there was a present you got that you really appreciated, please let me know!!

Thanks for reading :-)

One thing I got my DF was a really lovely body lotion, the type you'd not usually splash out on when you've got a new LO.

@katedaisy an extra long charging cable is often recommended on here too Wink

Www.thelittlesockcompany.com is the website my team use to get new mums presents - I can’t vouch for the socks staying on but we have had very good feedback

The most inventive and useful present I got was from someone who was already a mum - breast pads, lanisoh cream, hand cream, dummies, calpol etc. It was in a lovely gift basket and, as a first time mum, it included all the things I didn’t know I would need until I really needed them. That is the one present that really stood out for me among the eleventy billion muslins.

Definitely Lansinoh cream, it's expensive but amazing and lasts forever. Even if she doesn't breastfeed she can use it for lip balm or any sore skin.

I'd ditch the face masks and add a bottle of wine and/or snacks she can eat one-handed at 3am.
