New mum in Taunton

Hi there,

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place but hopefully I am! I'm a first time mum to a little baby boy and don't really have any mum friends. I live in Taunton and was just wondering if there are any other mums out there who know of any parent groups in the area or would like to maybe meet up.

I wondered if you had any luck finding any groups or anything?

I live in Kent at the moment but my partner is from the south west and wants to move back down that way, probably Taunton. I have a two year old boy and my second due in March, and wouldn’t know anyone in the area.

Yes there's quite a lot of lovely groups down here 😊 I've started going to one at the library as well which is free.

Taunton is a great area! I actually grew up in Kent but moved down here about 8 years ago. When do you think you might move down here?

I live in Taunton and love it. Moved here 3 years ago and find it a really friendly place. A lot of people seem to be here for work rather than just born & bred, so it’s not as insular as other similar sized towns.

Hopefully you’ve found the Mums of Taunton FB group and also New Mamas of Taunton - this is a bit quieter but has good lists of baby & toddler groups.

Happy for anyone to PM me! I’m back at work but manage a group per week on a Weds.

Thanks guys, that’s really reassuring! We’ll probably be moving in the next couple of months, but as i’ve never been to the area and am about to have another baby I’m a bit anxious about it! But it’s always good to hear that other people have moved there and are loving it.

I’ll definitely join those Facebook groups and try and get to as many as possible with two children on tow haha x
