Is it ok to give my baby Enfamil when I can't get enough breast milk.

I'm pumping my breast milk and bottle feeding my baby. But sometimes I can't get enough or maybe not in time for her before she gets hungry and fussy. So I suppliment. Maybe 2 to 4 oz of Enfamil usually at night 🌙. I don't like giving her the Enfamil because it makes her more fussy and she strains and grunts and cries more. Should I be doing something differently. I've tried to just pump pump pump until I cant take it anymore but its still not enough. Any suggestions?

Try a different brand of formula.

It's absolutely fine to give your baby formula. If she grunts and is uncomfortable with the brand you at rising maybe try another one.

If you do want to increase your supply, try googling "power pumping" for a schedule to follow. But if you need to, of course you can give formula.

Yes you can supplement but I agree that a different brand might be better. Formula is a bit harder to digest than breastmilk so she could be struggling with it.

I'm in a similar boat - pumping my milk and supplementing but only get about 100ml a day when I pump so I supplement more and also breastfeed. Is breastfeeding as well an option for you? If not then can I suggest doing compressions when pumping as you get up to 50% more milk out. Also try switch pumping. So do side 1 and then side 2 (or both together if you have a double) but only until the milk stops coming through. If you're using a single pump then repeat again and if a double then wait 5 mins before pumping again. Doing this can increase what you can express.

The absolute best thing you can do for yourself to help your supply is drink tons of water, it helps and quickly too!
