Thick lining of womb

Hi after some advice I have been told I have thick lining if the womb and need to go beck for a scan in 6 weeks to check really worried as been googling not good I’m 45 years old still have regular periods a couple of days before my period is due I do get brownish discharge on and off before period starts I don’t get heavy or painful periods any ideas please
