Denied JSA after redundancy for being on SMP and not paying enough NI

Anyone who has been through this situation of being denied JSA because of a lack of NI contributions whilst on SMP. I want to know how many people this is affecting and if anyone has had a resolution. I had this problem a few years back and I appealed the decision, wrote to MP and PM to no avail. I am now thinking of taking it further. Do you know anyone or have you been through this?

Not experienced this one but you might want to post in chat or legal matters. You might get a few more replies Smile

From what I remember with JSA is appealing decisions are a common thing.
They won't tell you to get an appeal form but there might be one for this matter.

The whole NI thing is a Secretary of State decision. So even if you appeal you won’t get anywhere. Sorry. Harsh but true. Former JSA advisor.
