Missed period and negative pregnancy test

Hi
My periods are always regular and I have never missed. This month I am 11 days late but have several negative pregnancy tests. I’m 41 years old but have been trying for a baby. After 3 miscarriages we were lucky enough to conceive our 1 year old just last year. Could this missed period be the start of menopause or could I be pregnant but the test not showing positive as yet? Any advice welcome. I don’t want to waste a doctors time as I have no symptoms or pain

It’s totasly upto you. The GP can request a blood test to see if you’re on the peri menopause.

If I were you I'd go to the GP. Your period may start before your appt but 11 days is pushing it if you've been regular until now.
It could be peri, some women start by their periods changing. It could also be a positive test! I assume you've tried the more sensitive ones such as Clearblue? Some women take longer for the HCG to show.

Are you okay, Snowdust?

I'm sure I'm right in saying you can have a false negative test. I had a blood test done (by the doctor) and that turned out negative. At a later date it turned out to be positive. This was almost thirty years ago, so I can't remember the time frame.
