Negative preg test and spotting but sure I'm pregnant!

I am wondering whether anybody else has ever been in a similar situation. We are currently trying for another baby. I was supposed to start my period last Monday so 6 days ago. I had some bleeding on the Sunday so a day before being due for my period. It only lasted half a day and was only noticed after a bowel movement. The same happened again today. I am convinced I am pregnant as having cramps and lower back pain. But I am testing negative with home pregnancy tests. Can i still be pregnant? This is literally driving me insane. Can anyone help?

Sorry I meant to say that I normally have regular periods and they last at least a week.

I know sometimes hcg can take a while to build up. You can wait a few more days and test with a good at home or ask your health care provider for a blood test. I've been doing IVF so I know how long it can take for those tests to show positive. However stress can also delay your period as well.
