Pregnant worrier esp eating out

Hi all, new to this and trying to stay calm in first trimester of 1st pregnancy. Latest worry was eating out tonight on trip to Barcelona, have tried to be v careful but think the meat I ate - although crispy - was not really hot enough (possibly poorly reheated?) Didn't want to make a fuss but didn't eat a huge amount of it. How to draw line between worthwhile worries / paranoia!?

Hello and welcome to MN. Congratulations on your PG too Thanks

What are your worries about the meat in particular? Are you worried about becoming ill yourself or harming the baby?

The latest NHS guidelines are here if that helps Smile

Thanks! Yes a bit paranoid about toxoplasmosis (for baby), saw meat has to be reheated very thoroughly and not sure that was the case! Generally I try to keep meat-eating for when I'm home where I know I can cook things v thoroughly... Smile

I’m not sure yiu can catch that from meat which has been cooked but not reheated thoroughly. You’re more likely to get D&V which can be unpleasant for you but is extremely unlikely to harm your baby. If you’re getting very anxious about what to eat, I’d talk to your MW. The Pregnancy section on MNis very good and have you found the MN Antenatal Club Section yet too? Smile

I will check that out thank you! And no D+V yet, think I would have had it by now Smile
