Chromosome abnormalities in miscarriage, 40 years old

I have just joined although over the last two years I have read many old posts on here on recurrent miscarriage.

I am just out of hospital after my 5th miscarriage. The previous 4 were before 8 weeks and never saw a heart beat. 2 were tested and confirmed random chromosome abnormalities. This last time we thought was different as had scans from 7 wks showing a strong heart beat and good growth each time until the 12th wk when there were soft markers for a suspected Trisomy 13. We had the private blood test that came back with 99% chance of T13 and at 15 wks plus 3 when I went for the amniocentesis, the scan showed that our little girl had passed away. I had to go in to be induced and deliver her and now await the post Mortem to confirm if this was another chromosome issue.

We are heart broken and so desperately want a child - a sibling for my son Who is 8 years old from a previous relationship.

We have had genetic testing to check that neither of us carry a balanced translocation and we are both clear. I have read about sperm fragmentation but the dr thought this was nonsense and says it is down to my old eggs. Should we give up trying and putting ourselves through this if the dr is correct? Any advice or hope appreciated.
